The Fed

improving lives

The Fed is the Manchester Jewish Community’s leading social welfare organisation. Their mission is to improve the lives of Jewish people living in Manchester. Each year The Fed help in the region of 3,000 people - approximately 1 in 10 members of the community - people from all sorts of financial and religious backgrounds who have all sorts of social care problems. They are carers, children at risk or with special needs, people who are bereaved, have mental health problems or physical disabilities, people in financial crisis, people who are isolated or in hospital and those who are subject to violence or abuse. They turn to The Fed for advice, support and guidance.

investing in our workforce

The Fed have over 90 members of staff and more than 400 volunteers all working to the highest standards. This has been recognised by The Fed achieving the IiV (Investing in Volunteers) Award in November 2007 and the IiP (Investors in People) Standard at the beginning of 2009.
